Child and Adolescent Care

Embark on a transformative journey with Respect Behavior Therapy's comprehensive Child and Adolescent Care services, crafted to guide individuals aged seven (7) to twenty (20) through crucial developmental tasks, ensuring a positive trajectory for the rest of their lives. Children within this age bracket encounter psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, and behavioral difficulties. Our Child Care program offers a multi-faceted approach, providing individualized psychotherapy to address concerns and case management to navigate community services, focusing on positive behavioral practices both at home and in the educational environment.

Adolescence, marked by significant physical, emotional, and social changes, poses unique mental health challenges that can impact an individual's journey into adulthood. Our Adolescent Care program acknowledges the distinct needs of this age group, offering tailored interventions until the age of 20 (or 23 in special circumstances). Structured around psychotherapy, case management, and life coaching, this program emphasizes effective coping mechanisms, improved social competencies, and overall emotional well-being. With a robust support team, including case managers, peer advocates, certified peer specialists, psychiatric technicians, and life coaches, clients receive comprehensive support in crucial areas like employment, college applications, and housing access.

The program is designed to help children in several key areas, including:

  • Social and emotional development such as self-awareness, self-management, relationship skills, personal responsibility, decision-making, goal-directed behavior, optimistic thinking, etc.
  • Physical health and well-being
  • Connectedness (relationships with peers and adults)
  • School experiences
  • After-school use of time
  • Academic skills and achievement
  • Parenting/parent-child interactions

Child and Adolescent Care services at Respect Behavior Therapy are voluntary. For a client to partake in this service, a written and signed confirmation from both the parents/authorized caretaker AND the child will be requested. Before services can begin, clinicians will screen the client to confirm the individual is authorized for the service and not coerced.
